Well Quinn came good, my insurance is up in a couple of weeks so I rang them again yesterday: €925 TPFT and €1,200 fully comp. Happy days!
I paid €1,300 TP on a 1.4 Civic last year!, word must have got out that I'm a fantastic driver :)

And why? If you're driving around a €500 sh!tbox why would you need Fully Comp? Or even Fire and Theft?

In an ideal world we'd all have fully comp but that would push the price of insurance up across the board this being Ireland, and when you're starting out insurance is expensive enough. And unless Daddy is loaded you'll most likely be driving a wreck as well so it does make financial sense in some circumstances to have the option

I just renewed my car insurance. I am 28yrs with 5 years NCB and 8yrs full license. 3rd party & theft was €417 with Quinn Direct. Eaglestar when I rang them direct told me that they don't insure Jap Imports! Totally weird because got quoted €712 with Eaglestar from www.123.ie. Hibernian was around the €600 to €700 marker by going direct, through www.insure.ie and www.123.ie. The funniest of all was AXA. I have been with them for 2 yrs with my old car a Toyota Avensis 1.6, I have been claims free and foun them to be avery good insurer. That is up until I told them about my new Toyota Altezza RS 200 6 speed. They told me the T A RS200 is a group 11 car (Scooby WRX, Skyline GTRs, BMW M3s, etc.), 11 being the highest car insurance rating and I would have to be minimum 36yrs old to even get a quote! Goodbye AXA :( hello Mr. Quinn Direct! :D
