Here's the story around here (Holland) with the diesels... (I'm a mod on the Dutch LexusForum so I get to read the stories first hand.. good and bad...) Some have no issues at all with them, but more and more have issues with them. The diesel engine is turning out to be a quite a fiasco over here... with some even getting new engines due to the EGR valve and fifth injector failing... My opinion? Stay away from the diesels... I know some say you shouldn't believe everything you read online, but I got to experience it with a friend of mine who had those issues with his 220D. Maybe you'll find a good one with no issues whatsoever...

It's just my advice from what I heard and saw over here bud. Sadly, that engine was a pure fail for Lexus. Why don't you look into the IS250's?

Well tax on them was another concern and a 2.5 would be even worse unless it was over 08 it might be ok,was looking to stay petrol ideally but not a lot out there after 02 or so
