auction site acronyms?

Anyone know what the following acronyms stand for when referring to the transmission type of a car?

F5
F6
FA
M6

think f5 and f6 are semi auto with the digit being the no. of gears
fa =fully auto
m6= manual transmission 6speed

i think. could be wrong. think theres a page on ibc's site telling you all about the grading on the auction sheets, have a look around for it.

I was told by the auction agent that F stands for Floor, as in some cars have a gear shift on the steering column, which is something else. i.e. FA is floor automatic and F6 is floor six-speed manual.

from my experience m6 and f6 both just mean manual 6 speed same for m5 and f5, anything with an a just being automatics, i think its just down to how the data is entered at the time, you'd often see the same model cars listed some saying f6 some m6
