Have deep pockets,, good cars solid out but the electrics are know to give trouble in the older ones ay way.
Brother in law had an 05 E class and the ecu was picking up faults after faults, the car started to close down and in the end had to get the car to a guy in Kildare who had to order a key through MB and cost close to €400 for the key..
He loved his only for that, his was like the one bellow.

Sweet Jesus no don't buy a beemer I had a 00 318 coupe before the altezza and it broke my heart, electronics where a disaster like a air flow meter and oxygen sensor cost 750 off BMW, and I had used Bosch ones weren't worth a dam you had to use BMW parts or you were pissing against the wind! It was like a Christmas used with all the warning lights on it

Stay well away you have had a reliable car my advice stay away from them!

Strangely enough though, the parts aren't any more expensive than the tez from what i've seen by just checking on sites for the standard ball joints, arms, discs, pads, drop links etc.

Fecking tough decision, really liking the CLK's. Definitely not eager for a BMW, sis has one, with the E46 engine, and nothing but trouble

Mercedes was a brand of the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG). DMG which began to develop in 1900, after the death of its co-founder, Gottlieb Daimler. Although the name was not lodged as a trade name until 23 June 1902 and had to wait until 26 September to be registered legally, the brand name eventually would be applied to an automobile model built by Wilhelm Maybach to specifications by Emil Jellinek that was delivered to him on 22 December 1900. By Jellinek's contract, the new model contained a newly designed engine designated "Daimler-Mercedes". This engine name is the first instance of the use of the name, Mercedes, by DMG. The automobile model would later be called, the Mercedes 35 hp.
