If you want to register a import from july1 big tax????

Postby Evelyn » Sat Jan 05, 2008 4:39 pm

Hi, just had a quick flick at work during the week a customer was asking about what it would to tax a car she was looking at after July and I nearly f**ked the computer out the widow when I saw the bit about imported vehicles will be hit by the new tax aswell. I was hoping to get a turbo altezza early next year oh f**k. I dont give two f**ks but the green party sould be round up and burtned at the stake.

nearly every jap performance car will come into the Band G. i've been lookin for the CO2 emissions for the altezza. best i could find was the is200 which is 233g, so i'm sure the altezza is higher.

we'll just have to buy car's that are in ireland already and tax'd under the old system. look at it this way the altezza you have now will be worth more then it is now in another few months.

If the greens had their way, we'd all be driving little wind-up eco-cars..
They haven't got a clue how a car works, yet somebody saw fit to let that shower make the rules..
I will do my part when it comes to the evironment, but this global warming malarky is getting out of hand.. Motorists are an easy target for generating revenue for the government, and thats what they are doing with the new taxes, using the dumb-ass Green Party to implement it.

i went looking at cars that would be in the low groups . but i cant find any yet .....

the majourly unfair bit i think is that if you have a group d or c car now . your f*** because your going to be paying the higher rate of tax if its a 2l ( 540+9%) instead of the lower rate that others after july will be paying

it may make people become more intrested in track days . but tbh . i think its very unfair for my car(and simular) to go from 540euros to 2k

ffs someone put a cork in cows or something

i think people will find engine swaps more popular .
eg. get a non turbo auto car with low emmisions and convert it to a evo engine or simular . then inform the insurance company but forget to mention it to the goverment .

wonder if i bought a acer of land and filled it up with trees would that do instead
if ive helped you in anyway vote for carlow to be the first tezzaworld drinking session

Just did a bit of research for e.g. (because I work for opel)

From July a 1.0petrol Corsa will be €150 and 1.3diesel will be €100
From July a 1.6petrol Vectra will be €600 and 1.9diesel will be €430

If the is200 has a co2 of 233g anything above the 225g is €2000 they dont even give you a kiss & cuddle for that just wham bam.

I dont know how there going to check the emissions on the cars coming into the country from july on are they just going to find the specs on them and run with that?. This is the greens after all there not really the brains of the operation..........

Is there going to be a company testing them coming into the country?
What are all the jap import garages going to do?

I keep going on and on about road tax but I f**king hate paying it with a passion for the s**t f**king roads we have to travel everyday.

1 more fact vehicles that are exempt from paying road tax include:State-owned vehicles,Diplomatic vehicles. They will look after themselfs and f**k the rest of us.
