Hello from Amsterdam

Postby j2jedi » Sun Oct 23, 2011 2:13 pm

Hi all,

Complete newby here on your wonderful forum, checking it out 8)
I live in Amsterdam and am the proud owner of my JDM Daihatsu Charade Gti Detomaso version. Bought her in the UK some 7 years ago. Although still going strong, she's up for a bit of tidying up now after 7 years of daily driving. At the moment I'm thinking of upgrading to a more mature ride, like a nice Impreza, Legacy or Altezza/Lexus, so doing some reading up on those. Have seen a lot of nice rides here on the forum! I know there must be one ore two Altezza's over here, but never seen them in real live. I have seen the european version for sale here - that would be the IS200 with TTE supercharger, but they're all matics...don't know if I want to go that way.

For more info and pics on my car, please check out my Cardomain page (is this enough or should I post the pics up here?)

Thanks for the warm welcome and compliments, guys!
Right now I'm having some "aging inflicted" welding done to the car (wheel arches and lateral trusses), so at the moment she's a bit patched up...but she has never let me down otherwise. :D

LOL, point taken...got any?

For the moderator (Noel) I have one quick question:
After sending a PM, the message is put in the Outbox folder and not in the Sent folder...is this correct or does it have to be in the Sent folder in order to be sent properly? Sorry for posting this here, but I couldn't find the answer on the forum

Yup it stays in the outbox until the recipient reads it ;)

Welcome along to the site! :D
I'm living in Rotterdam myself at the moment but will be moving up to A'dam before xmas for a new job!

I have an IS 200 left at home in Ireland and it is a seriously comfortable car and bullet proof also!
There are a few Altezzas floating about this country as I've seen a few around but very rare! If you want to buy a Lexus its easy to get one here but if you want an Altezza import one form the UK or Ireland as there are loads of excellent examples for sales there at good prices!

Thanks, Robin! Nope...have you seen my current daily JDM driver  I bought her in Sheffield a few years ago and drove her back to the Netherlands. Wouldn't mind to come over and get me a SXE10 8)
Have seen the old add (june 2011) of the 280t - what a nice ride! So what happened, did the guy already leave the country?

Thanks Niall, and you welcome to Amsterdam later the year :) My brother in Suriname also has one, nut he drives an AS auto. Very sweet and comfy car, but I would want sth a bit quicker. I know of one RS over here, but haven't seen one yet.
I've seen some nice ones, so who knows. :D
