ImageGreetings! Welcome to Tezzaworld website, unfortunately you are a few years late to the show as nearly everyone has been and gone, there is still lots of useful archived material to read through, not many active users unfortunately, but that’s the way it goes, hopefully you are not too disappointed...

Hi Lads, this is my first post, have had an rs200 with a few months and love them, bit of bad luck yesterday though, swung to avoid a car yesterday coming off a roundabout and hit the front off a kerb, the guy that took the car away said the subframe was damaged, would it be worth taking to a garage to repair or should i scrap it.

Welcome :)

Chassis and suspension they are the same as IS200, new parts are expensive so if you can find a rear damaged Lexus and swap what you can ... Chassis may need slight jigging too though,

Hope you get sorted :)

See the pics below, the first 2 show the passenger wheel, thats the way it looks with the drivers wheel straight and the steering wheel, I don t know if you can make it out but the wheel looks like its gone off chamber and when I took off the wheel the top wishbone looks like its bent (would that cause it to go off chamber), when i got under the car i couldn t see any bits bent and the subframe looks ok, also I measured front to back on both sides (centre of wheels) I got the following measurements.

Drivers side - 2660mm
Passenger side - 2650mm

Hello and welcome. There is no front subframe, there're 2 chassis legs on th front, if these are damaged they will need to be straightened which is doable if the turret tops are ok.
Did the airbags go off? Did you hit the front of the car bad or is it mainly suspension damage?
Sounds like you will definitely need new upper wishbones and lower arms, which are'nt cheap but still aren't megabucks.
You need a mechanic or a panel beater/bodyshop technician to look at it ideally.

Welcome

Doesn't look to bad think your need new suspension parts/linkages on that side but should be able to fix, get it to the garage and see what they say

Thanks for all the help lads, got a wishbone and inner track rod end today fitted them, took it to be tracked and its like a new car, the strength of these cars is unbelievable after the impact it took, I had it on the rolling road last month and it made 192bhp with a standard exhaust and air filter so it would have been sad to break it, cheers again lads.
