ImageGreetings! Welcome to Tezzaworld website, unfortunately you are a few years late to the show as nearly everyone has been and gone, there is still lots of useful archived material to read through, not many active users unfortunately, but that’s the way it goes, hopefully you are not too disappointed...

Newbie from uk - Gita awd

Postby V8GITAGTE » Mon Jul 25, 2016 6:40 pm

Hello everyone

Thanks for the add tezzaworld

Im a very happy owner of the JCE15W altezza gita which I believe is the only one in UK.
I've tried to treat it to some new hsd coilovers but the chassis is different to the JCE10 due to the awd.
At the moment can only find lowering springs so may need a bit of help sourcing coilovers.
My plans are to transfer either the 1UZ FE or the 2JZGTE with the latter being my preferred choice but more £££.
I want to keep it automatic as I'm a lazy bugger, but I plan to get a body kit, calipers, wheels and change the front seats.

Watch this space guys

Hi Just got one of these today. As 300 L in gold with cream leather 2002 .Its done 110,000 km and needs quite a bit of servicing, it runs well. The only niggle is no spare wheel and I can't drive it till I get my insurance swapped over.
My client brought it back from Japan and has owned it from new .I live in Hampshire

Hi
Just an update on My Gita.
Fully cleaned also leatherique on seats which have come out very well.
I'll detail outside when the weather warms up.
Plugs changed/ ,they are different from Is 300 being denso sk16r-p11 they had to be the most expensive!
Doing diffs oil[lucas synthetic 75-90 excited to find out if they are Torsen [m58]
Also Atf fluid none of above changed ever!
Next [once i sell my Beetle] are the belts and water pump/thermostat
All left to do after that are disc pads all round and a couple of lower Bushings.
For the outside a few little dings one of them is in the Aluminum tailgate which I am a bit nervous about as Aluminum does not come out so easy and then the bumper scuffs re painted . I tracked the colour down which is Ciabola gold metallic !The colour is growing on me and I understand why they never imported it from Japan.
As I have 5000 limted mileage on my insurance i plan to do two trips this year first to Bavaria; castles and mountains and then in early autumn through the French alps.
I'll get some pictures up soon .
Signing off Andy

Great work! :)

I presume this is a 2JZ engine and the same as the Lexus IS300 apart from the AWD being the obvious difference and benefit?

Not sure if the colour is the same as the Lexus colour (but with different name) as I know most of the colours were the same but had different names. I have got a pair of roof strips for the Sportcross/Gita version i got sent in error and look to be the same/very similar colour!

Hi Tom yes it is a 2 jz although the hp is 219 different plugs ,thermostat and water pump .
all work done now.The engine light is finally out thanks to new lambada sensor. Not sure what difference it will make.
I am going to japfest next Sunday my car will be on the retro Japan stand. Also got some track time booked for the afternoon.
I got a new front grill to put on and a tail light thats about it.
My roof strips are seriously dented so if your interested in selling them I'd buy them.

Hi I'm a newbie. I have a 2001 toyota gita had it for nearly 3 years now. We are trying to change the stereo in it as it still has the standard unit. But we are a little stuck as we dont know which wires are which as we have had a look at wire diagrams but they all have purple wires but my car has no purple wires. We have power to the new head unit we have put in it but dont know which wires are front or rear speakers neg or pos. Please help it's not nice having a car with no sounds. :?: oh and the car is a Japanese car.
