ImageGreetings! Welcome to Tezzaworld website, unfortunately you are a few years late to the show as nearly everyone has been and gone, there is still lots of useful archived material to read through, not many active users unfortunately, but that’s the way it goes, hopefully you are not too disappointed...

BEAMS wont go past 4500rpm

Postby charles kimenyi » Thu Jul 03, 2014 10:14 pm

HI all! newbie alert! I'm Charles from Nairobi,Kenya. I'm currently in the middle of a Blacktop swap.(05' Altezza rs200 BEAMS into a 1973 Celica S.t (ta22)...(purists forgive me...but atleast I kept it Toyota..lol)...and I'm having a few problems which I hope ya'll can help me out with. newbie mistake number 1..I bought a harvested engine(plus six spd tranny btw :p) instead of getting a nose cut. so I'm missing quite a few "items". Mistake number two...my harness had been chopped...especially M.A.F wiring. so now after the engine wont go past 4500rpm...I have tried everything I could possibly think of. Is there an alternative to the stock engine Harness? if so where can I get one? is any of you selling an UNCUT enigne harness?(including M.A.F)...any one know of any way that I can maybe repair my current harness? looking forward to ur imput on this...this might well be the ONLY BEAMS powered old school Celica in Eastern Africa...lol...heck I havent heard of any other so far!

Get an electrician to get all the wirin' in order.

What do you mean "won't go past 4500 RPMs"? As in, does it act as if the rev limiter is at 4500 RPMs?
if it does, then it might be your Air Flow Sensor which is weak, dirty or 'bout to die. 'Cause if it, the Air Flow Sensor, is not connected, the 3S engine can't go past 3000 RPMs.

Hope this info helps.
