Newbie from Dublin

Postby Trd Shane » Mon Dec 02, 2013 10:52 pm

Hey how's it going I'm Shane and recently bought a altezza ... Basal outlay love the car but has a slight few problems I can't get my head around I'm fairly familiar with cars as I've owned a trd sports m celica , wrx sti impreza and various others ... But my problem is a hesitation between 2 and 3k revs there's a hesitation like a chugging then pulls ok until 5k and then a noticeable gain in power at 5k are all altezza like that as in sluggish up to 5k .... Ino the hesitation shouldn't be there but I'm tracking it down slowly but surely ... I have cleaned intake mani ,throttle body , maf and replaced o rings and gaskets were necessary ... Can anyone shine a light in where to go from here .... Sorry about all the questions ... Any help will be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks in advance
Shane :)

Yeah gave the car a full service used ngk iridium tipped plugs ... Cleaned maf took throttle body of and cleaned and reset ecu still no joy really bad hesitation between 2and 3 thousand ... After a few days of messing around I found out it was the cat ... The car had a straight threw pipe. So I replaced the straight threw with catted pipe and bingo cars running perfect ... Still sluggish but no more hesitation :D
