What kind of test was this? NCT?

I don't recall them ever measuring the loudness of the exhaust before.

Its a garda test, i got stopped before and was told to put standard system on within ten days but she didnt have test equip and i dont think her ear was calibrated when she went on duty (foot patrol) so rang Portlaois and got all the regs and tested it myself with the loan of a meter, was 72dB @ 6000rpm, gardai generally rev it to 4500rpm and measure from a distance of 1meter ( so the man in the traffic office said)

i thought it was only to be revved to 3000rpm and held there for 10 seconds? Sure most garda have them noise detectors built in. You could always buy my hks SILENT!!!

all this was just done as an example, was our own choice to get them tested as they wernt forcin us to remove them, it was all to do with the issue of "boy racers" in the town. der was a meeting between modded car owners and the garda, in a months time they say dat der is gonna be zero tolerence on loud exhausts and dark tints, der not gonna b too pushy on other stuff,

well is this just an enniscorthy law, havent heard anything like that up here! Make sure if they do enforce it you get documents stating your modifications are illegal etc, rather than a grumpy garda that makes up his own laws
