trd bumper

Postby mandy2009x » Sat Feb 27, 2010 4:40 pm

has anyone else had a problem wit a front bumper, brought mine 2 get sprayed and the man just tried it up to the car and the fitment is way off, he said he'd have 2 cut bits 2 get it to fit  it would be on a strain the whole time so if it even got a wee tip it would break in crap

Is it the original plastic, or a replica ?

Did he show you or is he just trying to make it into a big job?

its fiberglass, i was there when he tried it on the car, there was big gaps at the corner of the headlights and both corners of the bumper were stickin way out, he'd have 2 cut bits out and try bend it around,he said he'd have to put it on the car before he would spray it cause all the bending would wreck the paint. yeah rang parts r us they said to send on a pic of the bumper to see did they send the right one. the grill is the only part that lines up easy

I went through something like that with my bumper.
Was a bit of a pain but went on the car in the end and looks ok. . Still tho if your not happy with it and
the guy fitting it says it wont look right. Get on to parts r us and get another one sent asap.

but sure if i get another 1 sent will it not be the same?

like it could be made fit the car if ya man cuts it and stuff, but its pullin the bumper a lot and if 1 of the hooks were 2 get a touch it would snap

I'm not a panel beater but from what i know very few fiberglass bumpers go on without a
but of cutting and test fitting. :?
As for getting another one some times the bumper could be from a bad mould and they might get another one for you..
Like moomoo said your man could be making a big job out of it to have it the way he'd like it..
