is200 and altezza visual difference

Postby Tosh21 » Sun Jul 12, 2015 9:10 pm

Was just wondering, is there actually any way to tell between a tezza an is without looking inside? I've seen quite a few cars with altezza grilles and badges but you look inside and can tell straight away it's an is200.

Are they completely identical on the outside?

Pretty much identical.

The interior on the Altezza is cloth, but so is a standard spec IS200. Most are that modified not they have different parts from different cars so it can be hard to tell!

Yeah, as far as Ive seen they look the same. That's part of the reason I kept the Toyota badges on mine that the previous owner fitted - just to confuse people! LOL

I thought as much, so many people tell me "altezzas aren't that rare I've seen a few on the road" but every single one I see has lexus all over it, even has lexus on the glass on some of them.

I thought about running toyota badges a while back, just looks weird though lol

There is one thing I have discovered myself and it's 100% every time I look at the car. The difference all across the years manufacturing IS200/IS300 and tezzas pre-lifts or face-lift ones is the middle head rest at the back couch, altezzas don't have one  unless some one changed the interior

Oh yea I always wondered about the rear fogs. Mine are clear but come on when the lights are on so had to pull the bulbs out, I assume it's not meant to be like that

Mine has been fitted with IS200 fogs as a lot of the Altezzas were when imported for an easy and tidy fix to get rear fog lights. My plan is to put this back to the Altezza way with 4x tail and brake light and have separate smaller LED fogs lower in my bumper skirt (once I've made it! LOL)

so what is the standard rear light set up on them? I'd like to have the boot lights as fog lights tbh, I have a bolt on one for emergencies/mots but would be nice to have proper fogs
