I have tried doing a search but cant find the answer. My car doesnt have all 4 lights that light up on the rear. I just have the outer 2. But I have seen a lot of altezzas where all 4 light up. Was this an option that is on some cars or is this just a case of sneaking in some leds behind the standard reflector??
Where is your fog light(s)? On UK spec cars the two red lenses on the boot lid are the fogs and the outer reds are the tail/brakes. Since fogs aren't required in Japan all four reds on the back of JDM's are tail/brake lights. Some importers replace one of the reverse bulbs with a red bulb and wire it as a fog to retain the jdm 4-tail light look, but some might wire it up like a UK car, so two tail/brake and two fogs.
If yours is a UK IS or a JDM AS/RS wired up like a UK then a bit of rewire can get the 4 light look.
right, im a bit confused:) its defo an altezza, its defo a jap altezza as its full of jap stuff and the headunit is in Japanese, but it only ever light up the 2 outside ones...im not lucky enough for it to be just 2 bulbs am i??
i actually never even knew the middle ones were fogs!!!! shows what you can learn, ill go check it out, and see what is what. i hope its just bulbs. or a little re-wire. how do i access the boot lightbuld holders?
They're not fogs on the altezza just is200s. They're lights and brake lights but if they aren't double element bulbs they won't act as both. Just undo the plastic fasteners on the boot lining to access them
Rear fog lights are or were an option on Altezza's they even got same rear fog light switch as Lexus IS200/300 so light set up be same as Euro IS200/300. If yours got OEM fog light switch then it was specified option. Just like headlight washers was too but not many Altezza got them.
