Hi, I know there is a thread regarding the Sat Nav; however, a few questions were asked that were not clarified. If anyone can help I would like to know where I can buy a 6.5'' of 7'' screen and if anyone can recommend a specific brand/type? I know Noel has a reverse camera in his, however, my TV function works fine so I would like to know if I can replace the screen, hook up a reverse camera or have RCA input and still use my TV function? Any assistance rendered would be greatly appreciated.
It was a cheapo brand 6.5" headrest monitor I got from caraudiosecurity that I put into mine ... Lads on the US lexus sites managed to squeeze a 7" lilliput screen in there but in ment de-housing so that's why I went for 6.5" as it was less work...
there was a clever lad on the Oz/Nz Altezza club that managed to interface with the original screen so that it could be used with external video sources
Thanks for all the help NOEL. How much did you get yours for if you don't min me asking? Also, I disabled the lead that goes to the handbreak so that I could watch TV while driving, but evrytime the car starts moving, the video comes off. My friend told me that the car has a motion sensor for the Nav as a failsafe to ensure that the TV does not display video while driving. By any chance would you know how to disable this motion sensor if it does exist? Thanks once again for all the help...
Yes, I did, and it displays video until the car is in motion. My friend claims that there is a motion sensor hidden somewhere in the car that will turn off the video once the car is in motion. I am not sure if this is true; that's why I decided to come here. Thanks for all the help though.
So you are able to view your TV even when your car is in motion? If so, maybe I did somethign wrong, but I even had the guy who installed my alarm look at it and he wasn't able to help me. My car is a '99 Altezza AS 200 Z Edition if that helps.
Ah, I see. Your friend that said about the sensor might be right so. There might be one behind the clocks but I'm really not sure and I presume you would need to cut a wire. Sorry, can't be any more help than that
