After-market Headunit Headaches

Postby r3volut1on » Mon Oct 29, 2007 8:55 pm

Finally replaced my err3 OEM Headunit with a Sony Double-din touch screen dvd player, but because the doubel din has more inputs and outputs at the back, the back of the head unit is touching inside the dash... does anybody know what the white plastic panel behind the dash is (visible when you remove your radio) ?? Can it be cut to give a bit more room for the head unit??

r u sure u dont just need to adjust the wires behind the headunit, has a similar problem with my old single din but, but move there wires back into the dash a bit and things fitted fine

Tryed again today, jiggled the wire around and the Headunit fits, but theres still no space to plug in the AV leads for the Rear Headrest Monitors or the other AV inputs i.e. Xbox 360, ipod, etc.....

Hmmmmmmm....................

You could try using rca leads that have a right angle in them like the ones in the link below.
