i have standard one gone long time ago and wired a tape player thing of the batt but for some reason i can't get a cd player to work of the batt.. i want to put in a cd/dvd etc player in it. so i want to wire it right.

the wires on the cd player are.
orange to battery B+
black to GND B-
yellow-to PWR.ANT
red-to IGN.SW
there the power wires

the radio is a AMSTRAD AR3500T

The box behind the glove box is an external amp and all of the speaker wires and some of the power wires are there. You'll need to get an amp bypass lead, that will give you all the cables you need at the radio. If the wires on the radio are cut you should buy the ISO connectors and join the wires up to them and then plug it into the amp bypass lead.

I'm wit ya now! Are you using the power wires from behind the amp or the power wires that were plugged into the back of the original radio?

Yeah there's the set of wires that were plugged into the back of the original head unit and then there's wires at the amp as well. I got the amp bypass lead which took the power wires from the back of the amp so all the connections for the original head unit are left unused.

I can take a look at the connections on the amp bypass lead in the morning and then I could tell you which wires are for what from the amp connector??
