Postby mannynz » Wed May 21, 2008 7:22 am

Hi, i just brought a RS200 and want to install a new radio, has anyone replaced the factory one with a single din head unit and if so have you got any pics.

Also i need to run a +wire from the engine bay to the boot can anyone tell me where the fire wall groment is??

Yep, but no pics handy at the moment. I used the Autoleads conversion kit. Some of the guys got genuine Toyota ones. I think I might get one myself when I get the urge to rip it all out again as the Autoleads one comes in several parts which tend to come loose over time.
I brought the power cable through the grommit just under the battery to the passenger-side footwell. The Lexus owners club and Australian Tezzaworld forums have good pictorial guides on how to do it.

don't buy anything untill you have done all your research first...

theres also different leads for different set ups... if your car has an external amp behind the glove box then the audioleads/toyota lead won't do, you'll need a specially made up one from a uk ebay company ("sounds4wheels"...)

The fire wallgrommet is behind the battery. Wiring is a piece of piss.
