Hi guys,i'm in the process of removing the screen from a sat nav system. I'm stuck with removing the screen as its still attached to the board with a ribbon connector. I've disconnected the button switches without any problems as they are just clipped in. Any help would be appreciated.

what you gonna do by removing the screen? replace a faulty screen or wanna mod the unit with latest gadgets like tablet.

pretty straight fwd unplug all cable (without cutting anything) and unscrew side panel of the screen case.

Cheers Pete,I got it sorted after abit of tinkering. I have it all disassembled and plan to put in a sat nav unit. I'm not too bothered about tablets as it's gonna stay permanently in the housing so a sat unit is easier. I plan to wire it up myself but having doubts as I'm no electrician! I know the connections from the housing,open/close,tilt and illumination but not to the car electrics.
I don't want the car going on fire down the road  . Eventhough it was meant to be a budget project,I think I may need some assistance
A linky to where I'm at.
