Postby DBX » Fri Nov 09, 2012 1:13 pm

Anyone suggest any decent carbon fibre or carbon fibre look film for interior ? i just want to do few interior bits i want to start off with the stereo fascia plate i got from ebay usa, i not got a new head unit yet lol

Richbrook one i got years ago is too thick to bend so thats no no... and i bought some off ebay for my old car that was very thin on a silver backed film shoudl it be like that?. Any links good ones ?

Or you could wrap it in real carbon rather than the fake stuff...

Wrapping in real carbon takes some skill.
I made some k20 engine covers this way and only half of them looked any good because of bubbles or milkyness in the resin.
Plus don't forget a vinyl sheet is 0.2mm thick and two layers of 2x2 twill carbon is 0.6mm thick and needs to be covered in at least the same thickness of resin.
So it would be much easier and cheaper to just vinyl cover the bits you want.

The stuff I posted is 3M adhesive backed so no need for resin.

Thanks for feedback, once again and i bought that 3M film, ok what do people think of this,? tacky or good ?didnt take long to do its a scosche fascia plate, it was alot easier than i thought, i only ever seen 1 carbon fibre fascia plate was a custom one years ago thats what inspired me.

Thanks ! i got the schosche one from ebay usa was quite cheap too about £16 inc shipping, isnt textured so no sanding, imo its better than the autoleads one i had in my old Altezza, i now covered that pocket and going to do the TRC/ seat heater panel soon ! Just need to get a stereo !!

*Edited*

Ok here's a pic of what i done lol, originally bought it for only the fascia panel but had over enough for the trc/ seat heater panel :)
