Try a length of pipe or extension bar with a socket on the allen key for a bit of leverage.
When you say "change your diff" do you mean the complete unit or just the oil?

A little trick you can do to improve the performance of you factory air box is to disconnect the vacuum line running to the solenoid on top of it. I used CRC & a rag as that was all I had handy at the time.
Not sure what you guys might use instead of CRC overseas. WD40, Inox ? You can get specialist throttle body cleaners also.

One of the boys on the NZ forums had a similar problem. Was easily solved by cleaning the sensor in front of the throttle body which gets gunked up with oil from the breather pipe.
