Re: upgraded intake manifold?

Using itbs and a plenum for boost makes throttle response better. Reason to go smaller is velocity. The itbs with a plenum and boost pressure allows the cylinders to get a more even flow where a conventional plenum gets a less even airflow to the cylinders. If i had 4k to spend on and ecu id use it ...

Re: upgraded intake manifold?

Hey Tosh21 you have a pm! the throttles are not going to be used on an na setup, they will be on a boosted application. Thats why a custom plenum for the itbs are needed. Its difficult to tune, but the throttle response is improved over a single throttle. My tuner has tuned many 20v 4ag engines that...

Re: upgraded intake manifold?

Thanks soiled. Im looking for throttle response more than pure power up high as this will be a full track car in the end, if i ever get there lol. The plenumand itbs would be more than enough flow and my tuner has done this before. So now to search for some blacktop throttles on ebay

upgraded intake manifold?

Has anybody ever built a sheet metal intake manifold and used a larger throttle body in a turbocharged application? My fabricator believes he can build one more suitable and free flowing and use a 75mm throttle body to increase performance on the top end under boost. At $700 its a good price IF It w...

Re: Boost Pressure and HP

Spring pressure is relative to minimum psi. A 7lb spring will allow 7 psi and double that to 14 psi, it will never be lower than 7. Take acount atmosphere pressure. In theory the earths atmosphere has 14.79 psi at sea level. Going 7 psi above that theoretically could net a 50% hp increase providing ...

Re: noob tezza turbo q's

Its goin to take at least a year or two for the full build. Already factored in an aluminum one piece driveshaft. Everybody in the united states does 2zjgte swaps and i hate the handling jn the nose heavy car. A built 4 cylinder is more balanced and can achieve power numbers for a track. I just foun...

Re: noob tezza turbo q's

Hey tosh21, they do offer an internal gated twin scroll with an .92 a/r. I talked to full race technologies a few hours ago and found out it would be perfect for a high revving 2.0 and wont choke so happy days for me! I also got a response back from par engineering about the dogbox and it is pricey ...

Re: noob tezza turbo q's

Good point about adding a little more boost!. My goals for hp is 600 flywheel hp and tprque hopefully in the 400ftlb range but i know thats a long shot. Im thinking the stroker wont be worth it as i can always add boost as you stated but also make the whole rotating assembly lighter making it rev fa...

Re: noob tezza turbo q's

Thanks soiled for all of your help! The efr turbos seem to drop power with an 8k redline with a small a/r. Id have to step up to the 1.05 and twin scroll t4 to really make use of the turbo, but at the same time a twin scroll with dual wastegates wouldnt be a bad thing. I've talked with many enfine b...

Re: noob tezza turbo q's

This is going to be strictly a track car. I was debating on a bigger ar but that also means going to a t4 frame in the bw efr turbo line. I didnt want to go stroker engine because this car can rev well but maybe to make spool up and mid-range better it'd be worth it. Another question can a 5sfe cran...

noob tezza turbo q's

So looking at doing turbo kit on the beams engine. I know factory rev limit is 7500 and ive yet to see many go past that. So heres what i am wanting to do. A BW EFR 7670 turbo with a t3 .83 a/r housing. 1st question. Pistons: should i drop it down to 8.5:1 or go as high as 9.5:1? rods : rev happy en...

hello from usa

Hey tezzaworld! So i have been to all sourts of forums pages trting to see who has done what with an altezza and finally decided to join. I am not an altezza owner, i own a bare rolling shell to an is300 that will be turning into a dedicated track car. So plans are slow this year but next year will ...
