Re: Ignition coils question

Yea its a kit thats pretty popular in new zeland. coilpacks have a tendancy to overheat and fail on these cars, cost an absolute fortune to replace so someone made a relocation kit apparently it helps keep them cool and last longer. They were selling for a fair bit of money a while back

There is 2 parts so check them both! If this isn't allowed please let me know and I'll list it all one by one or something htt...

Re: Forged engine rebuild vvti cam timing problem

There should be a paint mark on the gear of the pulley and on the pulley itself. Line them up and that's it. The best way to check is to take off the bolt/cover thing on the front of the pulley, the Allen key bolt it's the one you take off to get the cam out. There's a recess cut out for the cam dow...

Re: What triggers the VVti?

Yes you can move them by hand (apparently, I've never tried it) but Yea I read somewhere that they constantly move and adjust timing. I'm pretty sure it uses water temp and I assume it's the usual stuff like rpm speed maybe maf for engine load too. Out of curiosity, Why does it even have a speed sen...

Re: intercoolr VS charge cooler

oh yea i did have to cut a bit out the lights actually. Theres a little brace panel on both sides which i cut out but that made the top really flimsy so the bonnet wouldnt shut, had to make a bar that goes all the way down to the middle of the front end top to bottom and holds everything sturdy. It ...

Re: Engine rattle @3000-4000 rpm + powerless

I think it saves a sensor fault even if it only works sometimes so it would show up on a diagnostic. I doubt a compression check will fail but its worth doing if you have the kit just to rule it out too. Knock sensor would register on the diagnostics i think. If you found a loose intake hose its wor...
