How did you check the bottom end play !! By just pushing down on piston ... I wouldn't rule out bottom end issue as you wouldn't get significant access to see if there's play pushing down on the piston from top end won't really reveal any play as such if take off sump and check for play by pushing u...

anyone intrested in seting up a small meet or spin for a few pictures in the dublin area ? There is a meet going on in blanch next Friday I think it's all toyotas but I'll be heading and a few other tezzas will be sounds good , i should have my new japspeed catback exhaust by then :) I'll find out ...

Just remember that engine for sale is auto, and that the heads are different between auto and manual so don't rush into buying it. Can heads not just be swapped over and bobs your uncle ?? That's if it is bottom end failure And if it is bottom end failure i wouldnt say it would be worth rebuilding ...

Ok. Just done the paper clip trick and interestingly I seem to have three fault codes coming up: 1 flash gap 4 flash = 14 Longer gap 1 flash gap 5 flash = 15 Longer gap 1 flash gap 8 flash = 18 Really long gap then does above sequence again. So presuming I have three fault codes of 14 and 15 and 18...

Auch that don't sound healthy .. Sorry I can shed light on where it is or what it is .. But hope you get it sorted man ... Sounds like it could hurt the wallet ... Keep us updated man .. Hope it's something simple ... No worse feeling than hearing a nasty noise
