Re: Knocking Noise Front Suspension

Daveo is right... Sorry...I thought he changed the lower control arm bushings...I now see - reading back - that he didn't... Like he said...jack the car...take off the wheel...and inspect the bushings... If u see even a slight tear then they need to be changed... If the curvy arm doesn't stay uprigh...

Re: Lightweight Flywheel

That's the Techniclutch flywheel...
I placed an order with them in November...and never got it...
I'm glad too...I didn't get good reviews about them
And their customer service was piss poor...

Will check the Jap site...

Re: Steering rack centering

Do you have the same rack and rod ends on both sides?
I've seen some nuts take a non-oem rod end and drilled further into it because it was too long.

Cam Gear Pulleys

Guys, Two, yes 2, of my friends mechanics took out the cam gears and dismantled them entirely... Is this a problem? Can they be re-assembled or is it such that he will have to get a new set? I've heard that once you dismantled a VVT-I camgear it becomes useless... Is this true? Thanks... Camgears - ...

Lightweight Flywheel

Gents,

Does anyone in Ireland have a lightweight flywheel they could sell me through Paypal?
I have a friend there who you will post it to and he will bring it down to Barbados later.

I prefer a new flywheel but a not-too-abused one can work...

Re: Vibration after fitting Exedy clutch.

ok...well...your gearbox, clutch, release bearing and flywheel are the new parts... how certain are you about the state of the gearbox? You said you had a similar flywheel before...and new flywheel was checked by NASA... I think it could be a mis-alignment and/or something's loose... Get your ...

Re: Vibration after fitting Exedy clutch.

^ ^ ^ what he said also when/if you pick down the box again...inspect the flywheel for hot spots. I've read that you will get some chatter by switching from a dual-mass to Single-mass on most cars... Other forums say that it could be a mis-alignment of clutch and/or pressure plate, worn bearings, oi...

Re: Vibration after fitting Exedy clutch.

What Exedy clutch kit do you have?

Also...did you get new flywheel bolts and a new Release bearing (installed correctly)?
Did you use a clutch alignment tool? I know the Exedy kits do not come with a tool.
Did you change the Rear engine seal and Pilot Bearing?

Re: Knocking Noise Front Suspension

Disconnect the hub from the upper ball joint, level the arm, raise the hub and prop with a block and reconnect the ball joint. Note: do not let the hub fall to the lowest position, it could squeeze the lower ball joint and burst the boot. First of all...Remove the wheel...apply degreaser and wash th...

Re: Knocking Noise Front Suspension

i had a similar knock too going over bumps too...but i fixed it. The upper control arm is to be tightened in the level position. Most people use a jack to work on their car, like me, and when i changed my springs we levelled the upper arm and raised and propped the hub to level and then reconnected ...

Re: Knocking Noise Front Suspension

If you only hear the clunk when u reverse and apply the brake then it's most likely the caliper shifting because of the reverse movement. Nothing to be alarmed about. When you stopped reversing and then go forward and apply the brake you may or may not hear the clunk again. Do you hear the clunk any...
