Re: Check engine light flickering

low rpm high load check light flicker is normally knock.

If you have the hand controller put it on to peak mode in the monitoring section with knock sensor as one of the variables and see what it peaks at.

If you can run higher octane fuel try this and see if it stops/is harder to do.

Re: Airbox - whats the smaller box to the left?

That little box to the left also has ducting from the wheel arch for more air.

Re: Bit of a Problem??

Try contacting Nick from Toyota too, he sells the Exedy aftermarket ones at a good price.

Remember with the aftermarket clutch you'll most likely have to go for a solid flywheel instead of the dual mass factory one too.

Re: headgasket

Why not use a standard one for your engine as they are multi layered metal ones so are quite capable. If you want lower compression, you can stack two (rough way, but has been done lots with no problems) or buy a thicker one (HKS,TODA etc) Atleast that way you know they will fit and they will be fin...

Re: First timer!

You undone the two screws and physically turned the TPS? That should have an effect on the idle. As in you turn it too much and it'll rev the tits off itself constantly :p If turning it has no effect at all it may be no good? http://i546.photobucket.com/albums/hh429/nstp/3SGETPS.jpg The one in orange.

Re: First timer!

If you've cleaned the throttle body and it's still doing it, try an ECU reset (Disconnect battery for 30 minutes) see if that helps.

If not, you could adjust the TPS on the side of the throttlebody to lift the idle up (Not really ideal but will solve the idle problem).

Re: TOMS advox

I've had these in my car for about 4 years now and they've been good the entire time, don't know if they're rebuildable or not as I haven't gotten that far :p but these were second hand at the time I got them.

They aren't as stiff as other adjustable suspension options (HKS) which is a good thing.

Re: Intro

There do seem to be alot of turbo Altezzas popping up around here now a days, I think it's just with the cost of the Altezza coming down and the relative ease of turboing on factory internals its really comparable to a turbo Silvia (Fun power/handling wise) but with the added bonus of four doors. ht...

Re: Dyno results

That's about normal from what I've seen for the 3SGE in a pretty standard form, have seen 115kw(150hp) to 132kw(170hp) depending on dyno and condition of engine.

Re: Intro

Cheers for the positive comments guys :D It's still the factory 3SGE in there, recently done a rebuild to put low compression pistons, cams in etc after 3 years of running turbo on factory compression. Was making 192rwkW on the factory internals. Currently making 235rwkW with traction issues on run ...
