Re: supercharged altezza q's

Factory engine should be fine, you'll be maxing out those injectors long before you run into problems with the engine. It all comes down to the tune, melted piston is probably from running too lean. Get whatever ecu the tuner you are going to is happy with, but a PowerFC and a Link G4+ are both plug...

Yes, if done right. Search the forum plenty of topics on it to get you started. Then come back with more specific questions.

Re: best cams for 8500rpm

Easy enough to change dif ratios for top speed. The toda cams i have would allow the 8,500rpm with a bigger exhaust housing but i only run a. 64 on a 3076 so the boost starts to taper off. But if you're only making it for track and like to keep it in higher rpms there is no reason to limit yourself ...

Re: best cams for 8500rpm

Why are you set on 8,500 rpm?

I use the Toda 268/264 cams with forced induction and they work well.

Your turbo choice will probably limit your revs more than the cams.

Re: sard fpr sounds like a diesel!

I just said that because that's how it's designed to run and it probably wouldn't operate correctly without it as that's essentially what controls the diaphragm. It shouldn't start raising fuel pressure until it sees positive pressure. If you're still running the factory reg aswell why is it hooked ...

Re: sard fpr sounds like a diesel!

There are lots of counterfeit sard fpr going around, Google the differences to check it isn't one. My fpr doesn't make at noise at all.

Re: Car slightly vibrating at when idling

Engine mounts are commonly stuffed in these cars. Worth checking?

Jack front up (or park on an incline) run car with radiator cap off and heater on, top up as you go.

Re: DIY turbo/supercharger/nitrous?

Return fuel line and fuel pressure regs aren't needed, I ran 200kW fine on stock fuel system apart from injectors and a fuel pump. Oil cooler iisn't needed either it's a nice thing to have but regular oil changes work fine. Auto and PowerFC won't mix without doimg a lot of customising. This will be ...

Re: EGT and WINJ

You can knock at any power, that's more to do with octane rating of petrol, intake temp, timing and A/Rs. (piston design can come in to it too, but let's not worry about that :p) Bigger turbos or superchargers can supply the same cfm of air but at a lower intake temperature so you can make safer pow...

Re: EGT and WINJ

I personally think that is over complicating things for no gain. Your tuner will have a wideband air/fuel meter plugged into your exhaust and an external knock sensor for tuning to figure out what's going on inside. The Altezza intake plenum is an awesome design so you're very unlikely to get uneven...

Re: weird power delivery

The hesitation in the middle of the revs sounds like coils/plugs giving up. But if you haven't recently as always clean the maf sensor.

Re: ball bearing or journal bearing

Personally I'd go v-band just for ease of use. Have to be very careful to line everything up though and have all the faces smooth/true as they have a tendency to leak. As for the actual exhaust housing size that's down to personal preference, smaller the boost will taper off in high revs but good re...
