high rev stroker

Since our cousin 3sgte motors have high rev capabilities, why can't it be done to an altezza that has a better flowing head? I have seen 9500 rpm out of a 3SGTE 2.3 stroker. That's a 1.45:1 rod ratio, 272 cams with 11mm lift, obviously it's a built engine lol. But I have never seen an altezza engine...

Re: Forged engine rebuild vvti cam timing problem

I've been waiting for a Holset hx35 build on an altezza! Had one on my 1991 eclipse gsx. The turbo will be good for about 550hp if running e-85 and about 450 running pump. This turbo is hard to control, meaning lag lag lag- 3.5k rpm and bam shes off! The hx35 should have a t3 twin scroll 14cm2 housi...

Re: Turbo

I'm really not trying to be rude so don't take this the wrong way, but if you want spool at 2500rpms start thinking about a 1uzfe swap. You might get a turbo that starts spooling at 2500 rpms but you won't see good positive pressure until about 3300rpm. A small turbo like an evo 16g can get close to...

Re: Turbo

Id be looking at compressor maps if i were you. Going with a gt28 series means more psi to make the power. Fast response, oh yeah! Harder to make power, same boat. Most sr20 owners using the gt28 series run e85 to max out at a hair over 420whp at 21lbs of boost. Yet a gt3076 ive seen make 420whp at ...

cylinder head specs???

i need cylinder head specs. I need install height of valve springs, maximum stock cam lift,, valve spring diameter, and valve clearance at maximum vvti engagement from both intake and exhaust. Reason is i have a company on board for making valve springs suited for boost, by that i mean stainless ste...

Re: intercoolr VS charge cooler

Look over the inteernet and read some on twin scroll as its way too much info for me to post lol. As far as setup you need both divided manifold and divided turbo to work properly with two wastegates. As for lag a twin scroll will lag way less than a single scroll, even lag less than a chargecooler ...

Re: Changing piston rings

Pistons have to come out of the block to change rings, get a micrometer and measure away! Thats the true way to tell. On a side note, have you personally tested the compression to see if the rings are bad and not somethibg simple like valve seals? I wouldnt want to spend lots of money and still burn...

Re: intercoolr VS charge cooler

Lag will depend on piping length. Longer pipe more lag. Cooler air, more power. The gst tine attack subaru runs an intwrcooler thats air to air and he pushes 750hp in 105 degree farenheit heat and it sets record! Proof an intercooler works at 1/4 the cost of a charge cooler. A twin scroll divides th...

Re: intercoolr VS charge cooler

No need for a chargecooler at 400bhp. Id be more looking into an r154 trans adaprer because at 400hp itsging to be a time bomb for the transmission. An air to air intercooler will work fine even at 750hp. If you are set on a charge cooler then look up setups in general that people have used. Yes a c...

Re: intercoolr VS charge cooler

A charge cooler does have an advatage on less lag as ypu can eliminate feet of piping. Less piping less lag. If you ar in a really hot climate i got news, one is not better than the other because of heat soak. However if you het creative with the charge cooler then you can infact get cooler air with...

Re: TRD Diff

I believe stock ratios ate 4.1:1 for the rear gear. The engine is not a torque monster so gearing makes up the difference . Having the low gears (nimerically higher) make the car accelerate harder and faster (think drag car) with the disadvantage being top speed will be slower. Now if i were to have...

Re: TRD Diff

You can get a trd lsd for the factory diff, but trd did make a rear differential gearset that is either 4.33:1 and also a 4.55:1. Chances are you got one a trd differential gearset with an lsd installed

Re: Camber kit

The Megan racing rear arms will fit, the is300 is an sxe chassis just with a 6. Megan products are decent but I'd spend the few extra bucks and get the figs engineering ones. Remember camber is just a work of toe. Save yourself a headache and buy both, either Megan's or figs. It will end up saving y...

vvti advance degrees

Just out of curiositt of being limited to the toda cams, for use with vvti how far do the vvti cams advance/retard at the maximum degree? I've been told 40 degrees intake and 36 degrees exhaust but i want a true number. Thanks

Re: 3sge beams tiptronic help

is this shifter out of an altezza? If it is, you should be able to get it to work. If it is not, I'd find an original and go from there as frankenstein projects can get expensive.
