Re: Idle adjustment with mechanical throttle (no fly-by-wire

I haven't tried opening the butterfly valve while holding the black spindle. I'll have to check. I have a thread somewhere that I explain how I did my mechanical throttle. Basically I took out the 4 screws holding the black thing, rotated the black thing until the metal arm that it spins was touchin...

For those wanting a cheap cold air intake that works. (3SGE)

Spectre makes a MAF housing that works perfectly.

This has sleeves that shrink the intake to the proper size needed to work.

Now you can have an intake that works without issues for about 10% what you'd pay for an HKS or something and get the same performance.

Re: Idle adjustment with mechanical throttle (no fly-by-wire

I think I figured out what was going on. The way my mechanical throttle is set up I rotated the black thing so that it lines up with the white wheel that opens the butterfly valve. Since it's lined up if i unscrewed the idle adjust the white wheel just backs into the black spindle. So the idle can't...

Re: Idle adjustment with mechanical throttle (no fly-by-wire

Have you moved the physical position of the tps? Only other option I could think of is getting into the ecu some how and change the idle there but don't know of any software that can do that with our ecus? Maybe some one with the obii link software that's been talked about recently can chip in to s...

Idle adjustment with mechanical throttle (no fly-by-wire)?

I've got the motor running about 100% now. The only problem I have left is that it idles at about 2000rpm which is horrendous. I messed with the idle screw on the TB but that didn't seem to do anything, and obviously with the electronic throttle disabled it can't control idle. Is there a solution to...

Coilpacks and injectors

Considering this is an Altezza forum I'm guessing tons of you live where the SXE10s were actually on the market. I'm in the US and only have the motor. I've read more than a few people going to junk yards picking up coil packs and injectors for super cheap. Someone mentioned getting 4 coilpacks for ...

Re: SXE10 OEM diagnostic values? help.

Mine is 2.7 g/s at 706rpm (idle) Thanks you! That's pretty high for a 4 cylinder. I figured it would be since our motors breath like crazy... Anyway you can keep it in neutral in the just rev it up a bit to 1500ish? Mine idles at 1500 usually, I'm guessing because I have the TB set to mechanical on...

Re: SXE10 OEM diagnostic values? help.

Could anyone with 3S-GEs get some MAF values at idle?

Currently mine at 1300-1500rpm my MAF is saying about 5g/s which seems rather high...

Why have you got an upgraded fuel pump and return lines?

The motor is in a 77 Celica. Stock fuel lines are tiny and stock fuel pump is for carbed.

It's flowing plenty, I even pushed 70psi to be sure...

Re: 3S-GE 77 Celica (Help with motor)

Tried a diff ECU and the fuel trim is still 19.5%

This is so aggravating. I haven't the slightest idea what could be causing the problem...
It's becoming a serious money sink...

I guess I'll order a different brand O2 sensor, see if that fixes it.

Tried a different ECU and that didn't solve my issue.

So the answer to this thread is No, my ECU isnt bad... sigh.

Re: 77 Beams GT Celica

Those other cars aren't mine. Those pics are from when I bought it. My GNX broke years ago and was sold off. Currently I use the Celica, and I have a 91 Mazda 323 for when working on the Celica. I had an RX7 FD but sold it when the motor blew. sticking to cheap reliable cars these days. I haven't we...

77 Beams GT Celica

Its not an RS200 or Altezza, but it does have its heart. This is a 1977 Toyota Celica GT (Liftback) with a Beams 3S-GE powering it. It's not the first of its kind that's for sure, and its not even the nicest or best I've seen but hey, start small. Here's how it started: http://img.photobucket.com/al...

Re: Is my ECU bad?

Flow tested the injectors? O2 shouldn't affect full throttle runs, only cruising, light load and idling. Proven that it is actually 6000rpm that it's getting to and not just a faulty tacho? MAF and coils are normally the ones that give problems at that rpm though. I haven't flow tested them. I gues...
