Re: Badly misfiring RS200

I reckon it's a coil pack, you could start the car and disconnect and reconnect each coil and if one of them doesn't make a difference to how the car is running then that would tell you that the coils is fried! I reckon that's worth a try anyway :D

Re: Dreamer and tire kicker looking for an altezza!

I had no problem at all telling you when/if you looked at the car but as soon as you say that on the phone to someone it puts them off as they think it was abused etc when it wasn't, I had two mechanics look at the car and it was perfect it was just one of those things! Also you never asked about it...

Re: change a wheel bearing

Don't know how bad they are to change on the altezza but I did them before on a primera and it was a prick of a job if you don't have the right gear!

Also I wonder if it is possible that there are some earthing cables missing? Has your mechanic compared it to another altezza?

Re: Engine change car keeps conking

The immobiliser was wired in (cut and joined) in after the ignition barrel! He just re join...

Re: Engine change car keeps conking

O right ok good job timing belt I'm guessing  I changed the engine on mine and I didn't change the loom or ecu! You basically just drom the engine in with the wiring attached and plug in around 6 connectors if I remember correctly and away you go! Where in Limerick are you from?

Re: Engine change car keeps conking

It could well have an imboliser fitted.to it, altezza also don't come with kill switches! You don't need to match the ecu to the engine It should be fine I reckon your old engine was probably fine to before you took it out! I reckon it is purely a wiring issue there must be some sort of immobiliser ...

Re: Engine change car keeps conking

Why did you change the ecu and wiring loom? What happened the old engine? Is it miss firing when it's running for the 15 seconds? If you rev it will it stay running? Is it possible the car has an immobiliser built into it and it is cutting the spark or fuel after that time?
